Medical Research Council (MRC) researchers at the University of Leicester have discovered a protein called HVCN1. This protein regulates antibody production through modulation of intracellular oxidation. In the absence of this protein, the immune response is dull. These findings are very novel and significantly contribute to our understanding of how the organism mounts an immune response.
Their findings have been published in the journal Nature Immunology. The work has been carried out by a team at the MRC Toxicology Unit at the University of Leicester.
Dr Melania Capasso, one of the authors of the study, described the findings as being very important in understanding how the body fights certain disease such as lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, including types of cancer.
“The findings are very significant for the immunology field and help elucidate the contribution of natural oxidants such as reactive oxygen species to B cell activation and represent the rationale for using HVCN1 as a target for therapies where activation of B cell needs to be diminished.”

This is a testament to the fact that you must choose the drug you intend to use wisely. This is not the first time nor the last that a supposedly “safe” treatment has been found to be deadly.

I had a good read through both sites. I’ve had a form of rheumatoid arthritis since I was about 19, but never full blown. I just get episodes. Not often. but now I am going to ask next time I have a blood test whether they are also testing for lupus as I do have some of the symptoms.

Good article. I’ve heard that HVCN1 is contributes to antibody production which can effect not only viral, but biotic aspects of cleaning a wound and many other situations.

It happens a lot, especially with Arthritis drugs. I don’t take any medications but have been in the business 30 years.

I’ve noticed your website a while ago, just never really got a chance to post anything back. I found it to be very useful and would like to see if you are able to get in touch with me and maybe we can have a discussion on a few of these topics. Would appreciate a response back.

We will be spending a week in Vancouver before we take a week-long Alaskan cruise. Is there any place near downtown where we can take our clothes to get them washed, like a drop in laundry service? With two kids, the price per item that the hotel will charge will quickly add up to be more than we can afford.
